Since your wedding reception will be the single most discussed topic of your wedding day (after the dress of course!) and since a big chunk of your overal wedding budget will be spent on the reception (30-35%)-INVEST WISELY
Our goal is to provide you with a wedding reception that is as unique as you are. For this reason, we don’t have a mass produced, one-size fits all menu packet to send you. We can certainly show you some past menus, popular menu choices, and price ranges. However, it is impossible to give you an instant quote via phone or email. Here is how we prefer to roll at STF:
Step 1
Call or email us. This is free! (a word that will soon become your favorite as you plan)
Step 2
Give us a little info about you and your fiance and your special day. Have you set a date? Do you have a venue? How many guests will be attending? What type of meal service would you like (full buffet? plated? hors d’oeuvres? a hybrid?) What time of day will the reception be held? Do you have a budget?
These questions and more simply give us a view of what you envision for your day. This conversation also gives you and I a chance to see if we are a good fit. Like you, we are unique-not your run of the mill, cookie cutter caterer. We want to be sure that we are the company for you and you are the client for us. If either of us don’t feel that connection, I’ll be happy to refer you to our trusted friends and colleagues in the industry. Your day is too important to roll the dice on your caterer. You want to be sure that the company you select, can deliver.
Step 3
After the initial consultation, if you decide you want to learn more, we’ll be happy to create a proposal tailored to you. Your proposal will include a couple of different menu options; it will explain the flow of the reception and the event plan (which includes logistics of the before, during, and after); it will detail what you can expect from us; and it will provide an itemized breakdown of expenses so you can see it all in one place and make an informed decision. The menu cost, labor costs, rentals (items such as tables, chairs, linens, glassware, etc. if needed) delivery fee and tax will all be provided for your review.
At this point you can let us know if STF is the caterer for you.
Step 4
We supply you with a Letter of Commitment (LOC). This is a simple document stating that you want us to be your caterer and that we will reserve that day just for you. A $500 non-refundable down payment is due with the LOC.
Step 5
The process of tweaking and adjusting all the details begins and does not stop until everything is perfect and you are pleased.
Step 6
A contract is drafted and signed at this point. Often couples and families want a Chef’s sampling of their proposed menu. We love those! Check out of FAQs page for more info on this
Step 7
We set aside a time for a site inspection of your chosen venue. This is necessary for us all to make sure we are on the same page on the what, wheres, whens, and hows. Often rental company reps, wedding coordinators/planners, and mothers are on hand for this meeting.
Step 8
Show up for your wedding reception and enjoy! You will get to be a guest at one the most fantastic parties you will ever throw!
